Pippi on the Mississippi:

Runaway Girl, Runaway Island

A genre-bending chapter book that blends How to Houseboat with Action/Adventure. And yes, the girl is the hero.

Exciting chapter book
for Young Adventurers!

River rat Pippi runs away to her family houseboat, The Karna Kathleen.

But Pippi discovers a scheme afoot. Icky, a drifter, plans to steal her boat. Castaways Marina is no longer a safe haven.

With a stray black Labrador as her companion, Pippi begins a desperate adventure, where danger and beauty intertwine.

The Mississippi River starts as a trickle out of Lake Itasca in northern Minnesota. Streams and tributaries fill it with snowmelt and runoff. By the time the river reaches Inver Grove Heights, MN, it has
become an impressive river.

Learn how to live year-round on a houseboat in Minnesota. Runaway Girl, Runaway Island is book 1 in the Pippi on the Mississippi series.

Author, Kari Johnston

It all starts with a deep appreciation of the Mississippi River. As a debut author, I'm excited to present my book,

Pippi on the Mississippi:

Runaway Girl, Runaway Island.

For five years, I enjoyed the challenges and beauty of living on a houseboat through all four seasons.

My husband and I now live between Minnesota and Arizona. I wholeheartedly embrace the creative process and work to perfect my writing.
